The comprehensive Alaska Climate Change Strategy describes the actual and foreseeable effects of climate warming in Alaska[1], recommends appropriate measures and policies to prepare communities for responding to them, and provides guidance regarding Alaska’s participation in regional and national responses to climate change.
Bangladesh LEDS Planning
CCS has partnered with the LEDS GP (and NREL as co-secretariat) to conduct in-country LEDS-related assistance to Macedonia, Democratic Republic of Congo and Bangladesh. CCS engaged with government leaders, stakeholders, and donors to assess gaps and opportunities to develop a Green Growth Strategy to meet their own development priorities and needs including NDC implementation.
Arkansas Governor’s Commission on Global Warming
With the signing of Act 696 of the Arkansas 86th General Assembly (HB2460), Governor Mike Beebe established the Governor’s Commission on Global Warming. By design, the Commission represents a wide diversity of views and perspectives with members coming from business, industry, environmental groups, and academia. The Governor appoints seventeen of the twenty-one members of the Commission and two members each are appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Arkansas State Senate and by the Speaker of the Arkansas House of Representatives….
CIOESTE, São Paulo, Brazil
CCS and Winrock are embarking on pathways development support to seven selected regions in in the LAC region that are members of the Under2 Coalition. Through a step-wise approach that involves substantial engagement of public and private sector stakeholders, the works focuses on achieving optimized and transformative pathways to reductions in greenhouse gas emissions consistent with under 2 degrees Celsius climate stabilization levels, and complete, accurate and cost-effective Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV).
Michigan Climate Mitigation Action Council Climate Action Plan
On November 14, 2007, Governor Jennifer M. Granholm issued Executive Order No. 2007-42 establishing the Michigan Climate Action Council (Council).
The world’s scientific community has concluded with a very high level of confidence that emissions of greenhouse gases are causing the Earth’s climate to warm. Throughout the world, business leaders, governments, and the public are all recognizing the potential impacts of climate change on the economy, environment, and our quality of life. The State of Michigan can play an important role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions through encouraging technology innovation and the adoption of policies that provide net economic and environmental benefits.
Kentucky Climate Action Plan Council
The Commonwealth of Kentucky established the Kentucky Climate Action Plan Council (KCAPC) process to identify opportunities for Kentucky to respond to the challenge of global climate change while becoming more energy-efficient, more energy independent, create jobs, and spur economic growth.
North Carolina Climate Action Plan Advisory Group Recommended Mitigation Options for Controlling Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Recognizing the profound implications that global warming and climate variation could have on the economy, environment, and quality of life in North Carolina, the Climate Action Plan Advisory Group (CAPAG) was established with the aim of developing proposals for dealing with climate change in North Carolina. Its final report and recommendations were released at a public meeting on October 16, 2007, in Raleigh.
Pacific Coast Collaborative
On June 30, 2008, the leaders of the States of California, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska, and the Province of British Columbia, signed the Pacific Coast Collaborative (PCC) Agreement. Through annual meetings, the PCC promotes a common front for cooperative policy alignment, action, and information sharing among the Governors of the states of Washington, Oregon, California, and Alaska, and the Premier of British Columbia.
Pennsylvania Climate Change Action Plan
The Office of Energy and Technology Deployment (OETD) serves as DEP’s principal office for energy policy, the assessment of energy and environmental technology, and the promotion of the use of appropriate technology to address environmental problems. Their goal is to effectively work with citizen groups, businesses, trade organizations, local governments, and communities to help them reduce pollution and save energy. Part of that effort includes encouraging the deployment and use of innovative environmental and advanced energy technologies, including renewable energy.
10-STEP PROCESS AND ANALYSIS TOOLKIT
Over the past ten-years, CCS has developed a widely implemented process for comprehensive, multi-objective, climate, energy, and economic action planning and analysis. This 10-Step Process & Analytical Toolkit can be applied at either the national or subnational levels, and across all sectors or for individual sectors and policies to support agency and stakeholder decisions.
USAID Guatemala Enhancing Capacity for Low Emissions Development Strategies (EC LEDS) Project
From 2015 through early 2019, the Center for Climate Strategies (CCS) supported RTI International with the design, planning, analysis and implementation of the Guatemala Low Emissions Development Strategies (GLEDS) program of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to meet the country’s NDC commitment, and sustainable economic and social development goals.
The GLEDS plan represents a successful, replicable and scalable template to spur countries’ economic and social development while meeting environmental needs and goals.
University of South Florida St. Petersburg Climate Action Planning
June, 2016. CCS completed work with staff and students at the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg (USFSP) on developing a Climate Action Plan (CAP) for submittal to the Climate Leadership Network (formerly the American Colleges and Universities Presidents’ Climate Commitment). The work completes a two-phase assistance agreement to build capacity at USFSP to measure, monitor, and manage greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to meet important goals of the university and contribute to broader efforts to expand climate change knowledge and solution capabilities.
South Carolina Climate, Energy and Commerce Report
Recognizing the implications that global climate change may have on the economy, environment and quality of life in South Carolina, Governor Sanford issued Executive Order 2007-04 on February 16, 2007, establishing the South Carolina Climate, Energy & Commerce Advisory Committee (CECAC).
Southern California Climate & Economic Development Project
The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) engaged a diverse and high-level group of stakeholders representing government entities, environmental interests, key industries, and other groups through its Climate and Economic Development Project (CEDP). The purpose of the CEDP was to identify regional and local strategies and policies to reduce greenhouse gas(GHG) emissions and yield positive economic impacts for Southern California.
Southern Governors Association
A report produced for the Southern Governors' Association presents economy- and region-wide opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and evaluates their projected potential financial costs or savings.
US States Climate Action Planning
Our planning and engagement processes with US states have included comprehensive climate action planning initiatives in all regions of the country chartered by governors through Executive Orders and public law.
Washington Actions
The final recommendations of Washington’s Climate Action Team (CAT) contains “most promising” strategies and opportunities to reduce GHG emissions affirmed in 2008 by the CAT for consideration by the Governor and the Legislature.
