Webinar: Economic Impacts of Comprehensive Climate and Energy Policy

Please join us on Thursday February 10, 2022, from 2-3 pm ET for a joint webinar by The Center for Climate Strategies (CCS) and Regional Economic Modeling, Inc. (REMI) to explore economic and financial tools for targeting climate policy and public investment deployment to stimulate greenhouse gas reduction, economic recovery, and environmental justice. The webinar will feature Thomas D. Peterson, President & CEO of CCS, and Dr. Peter Evangelikas, Vice President of Economics and Consulting of REMI.

The urgency of climate change, economic recovery, and social justice continues to dominate our public policy spheres at all levels of government, including implementation of the recently enacted Infrastructure, Investment, and Jobs Act (IIJA) in the US. Mr. Peterson and Dr. Evangelikas will review proven approaches and tangible solutions for measuring the socioeconomic and financial impacts of reducing greenhouse gases in all economic sectors and levels of government. This discussion will feature the study “Economic Impacts of Comprehensive Climate and Energy Policy: National Climate Change Stakeholder Recommendations and U.S. Senate Proposals Would Advance Economy and Employment” as well as new applications for government agencies, stakeholders, and technical institutions.

The results of these studies underscore the strategic benefits of comprehensive approaches to climate mitigation and the importance of stakeholder involvement in policy development and management of economic sectors. You can access the study referenced above by clicking here and find additional related publications here.
