CCS Applauds New US Climate Pledge with Launch of New Website

Washington DC. The Center for Climate Strategies (CCS) applauds the new historic commitments to climate change stabilization announced by President Biden for Earth Day 2021. CCS looks forward to working with stakeholders and governments across the US and key regions of the world to identify and implement solutions that stabilize the climate, recover the economy, and create a sustainable future for everyone.

In our estimation, the pledged target of a 50-52 percent reduction in carbon emissions from 2005 levels by 2030 and the mid-century net zero carbon goal are not only essential but achievable through comprehensive, collaborative, multi-objective action planning approaches, such as those CCS has developed and implemented through national and subnational climate planning initiatives over the past two decades. With new financial support for economic stimulus and infrastructure, new commitments to private finance, and new innovation programs, the potential for enhancement and expansion of proven approaches for climate solutions is vast. Working together, we can act during this decisive decade to build a better, safer and more just world for every member of our global community.
